Six riders gathered at Lymm Services at 9:00am for the days RAT ride out to North Yorkshire. The torrential rain over night had passed but there was the odd bit of unexpected drizzle throughout the morning.
The group headed north from Lymm Services up the M6 to Devils Bridge near Kirkby Lonsdale, a popular biker stop, for a rest and a cup of tea.
Stopping briefly for a fuel stop in Kirkby Stephen, the riders proceeded to the Tan Hill Inn for around 12, but on arrival it was found to be heaving. So the group decided to simply have a drink outside, enjoy the views and then push on to Hawes for a late lunch via the Buttertubs Pass.
Hawes was busy too and the sun was now shining brightly. Having found a place to park the bikes it was time for a pub lunch at the Board Inn.
With full bellies it was time to think about heading for home. A blast down to the Ribblehead Viaduct, then through Settle, the riders made their last pit stop at the Extra Services on the M65, around an hour from Chester.
Till next time...ride safe.
